“Why is good copywriting critical to your business?”

Copywriting is one of the most underrated pieces of a business.

People spend a ton of time and money doing split testing, thinking about pricing, and redesigning their logo, but they forget about copywriting.

That’s a mistake. When someone comes to your website, you have about five seconds to convince them to keep reading. And the way you do that is not with just the design.

Your words matter, too. Those words have to reach out and grab them in five seconds, or they’re gone. You know that’s true because you do the same thing when you browse the Internet.

So we spent a lot of time learning how to write copy. Copy that engages. Copy that’s different.

When I went to a bunch of life-coaching sites, I wanted to kill myself because they all used the same words:

  • Oh, let’s all grab hands and dance around a fire
  • La, la, sisterhood
  • Work with me (That’s always at the top: “Work with me!”)

You don’t want to sound like everybody else. That’s death in business.

So when you come to my site, you’re going to find things that reflect my actual personality.

  • I write about being afraid to use a bidet
  • I write about listening to Whitney Houston at the gym
  • I write about my worst fear, which is that my headphones get ripped out and someone can actually hear what I’m listening to

I mean, these are real things!

Of course, I also talk about business, copywriting, monetization, growth, and psychology.

You can do the same thing. You don’t have to be me. In fact, you’re not going to be!

But you can be yourself in all of your idiosyncratic ways. Talk about the things you’re truly passionate about, and honestly just have a little bit of fun with it.

Copywriting lets you use art and science to reach out through the screen and grab people to get them engaged with your business.

And the best part about it is, once you learn the skill of copywriting, you realize that it’s just a tool.

Very few people want to spend 10 hours a day becoming the world’s best copywriters. The good news is, you don’t have to. When you learn this skill, you sit down at the page, you write the copy you need to, it’s good enough, and you move on.

That’s exactly how we teach copy.
