Top bloggers reveal: My #1 piece of advice to new bloggers

Never run out of blog ideas

The best bloggers — people who have millions of monthly readers — don’t come up with a new idea to write about each time they decide to post. Instead, they write about the same subject over and over. They just write every post from a different angle.

Here’s a great question from someone about to start a blog:

“What is one piece of advice that you’d give to someone about to start publishing content?”

We get this question a lot. So I turned to some of my most popular writer friends for answers. Let’s take a look at what they said.

Advice on how to start publishing remarkable content

First up is Neil Patel, a serial entrepreneur who co-founded KISSmetrics, Crazy Egg, and Hello Bar. He also writes about getting traffic to your site at Quick Sprout. He says using numbers is critical:

Mark Manson — an author, men’s dating coach, and blogger with over 2 million monthly readers — recommends writing as much as you can, starting today:

And Libby Kane, a personal finance writer for Business Insider, says to share your personal stories, which will engage readers:

I agree with Libby’s take. Writing great content is about the combination of your unique skills and experiences, and your audience. What do they want? Ask them, and be open to feedback. Then give them what they want and need.
