Attract the right customers to your business (no angel investors needed)
You could run yourself into the ground chasing investors, searching for people to hire, and trying to come up with revolutionary business ideas.
Or you could focus on the most important part of your business: your customers. Yep, the people that pay you for your products and services. That’s where you should really spend your time.
Also, realize that some people will NEVER buy, no matter what you do or say.

Generate revenue right now using the $10,000 Detour technique
Here’s a question from Kevin. Kevin asks:
“I may need an angel investor because in the past couple of years I have been digging myself out of my personal hole, and I could use a hand up. My momentum has come back, and so has my energy. I know you don’t want to deal with people in debt, but all of my research and the information I’ve read can definitely put me in a position to make some money, get my stride going even more, and serve others.”
Kevin wants to know, what to do now that he’s gotten out of debt and is ready to launch his online business.
First of all, I’ve been through the investment process on both sides of the table. In a Silicon Valley company, I helped raise millions of dollars. I’ve also been an angel investor, and I’ve invested money in private startups.
I can tell you that angel investors are not looking to give a handout.
They’re making calculated investments, and they want an ROI, a return on their investment.
So my recommendation is, don’t wait for an angel investor to fall out of the sky.
They’re not just going to throw money down on your head. That’s not the way it works.
I would recommend something else. I call it the “$10,000 Detour.” Instead of waiting for someone to come and give you money, go out and get it yourself.
You don’t need a fancy or well-designed website to do this. All you need is a simple platform to offer coaching and build revenue from (that can be a blog, a Facebook page, etc).
There are a couple of things that I really like about this.
Number one, you don’t need a conversion funnel or any advanced marketing stuff.
You can actually start doing coaching or consulting with no website, or an extremely simple website of two to three pages.
Number two, you can actually generate revenue while you are doing customer research.
As you’re talking to these coaching clients, you’re helping them solve their problems. And meanwhile you’re taking notes and saying, “Oh, okay, so he got stuck there. Oh, she didn’t know how to do this.”
You can take note of all of these things and put that with your research.
A lot of people immediately think “That sounds so great, but where am I supposed to find these clients?”
The answer is: If you can’t find them now, how do you expect to find them later when you have an online business?
Now’s the time to find paying clients. We cover this in detail if you sign up below.
So Kevin, I totally understand that you were in debt and love that you’re ready to start your online business. But don’t wait for someone to shower money down on you. It’s not going to happen.
You can actually generate revenue right now, using the “$10,000 Detour.”
